Westcott Church of England School
The Parents' and Friends' Association meet once or twice a term to discuss fundraising events.  Last academic year the PFA raised money from events as varied as an Easter Egg Hunt, School Link books, Plant sales, a Shopping Fayre, Cookery evening and  Bag2School.
If you would like to help raise funds for the school as part of the PFA, a meeting is held every six weeks and there's some planning work around events. Please contact a member of the existing committee if you are interested in becoming involved.

FUN DAY.

The fun Day was massively successful again this year with over 600 visitors attending. All the profits from the Fun Day are split equally between St Mary's Church, Westcott School and The Cricket Club. We received a cheque for 1,180 pounds at the final meeting of the committee along with the ccommittee's thanks for all the help that the school had provided both before and on the day. It's such a big undertaking to organise that the  committee take their regular year off next year to return afresh in 2011.

BAG2SCHOOL.

This is another one of those easy to organise fund raising activities. Bag2School send us empty bags in which to place any unwanted textiles - they provide a leaflet explaining what can be included - and on a pre-arranged date they come and collect the bags.Once the bags have been weighed they send us a cheque worth 30p per kilo. The next collection for Westcott is Wednesday 4th November so please start saving those unwanted clothes and textiles now.

PERSONALISED CHIRSTMAS CARDS.

As Westcott has always been such a small school producing Christmas cards designed by the children has not proved viable in the past. However, we have found a company who can do so this year! Packs of cards designed by your child/children should be abailable for you to purchase by late November. Siblings not attending the school will also be able to take part.

PANTOMIME JACK & THE BEANSTALK.

Once again, this year the PFA has purchased tickets and coach travel for all the children and staff to see the pantomime in Aylesbury on Tuesday 15th December. Some extra tickets will be available for sale nearer the time.

CHRISTMAS NIGHT OUT.

This is a not-for-profit purely-for-the-fun-of-it tradition! If anyone has any ideas of where to go and/orwhat to do please start discussing at the school gates! Let's get a date and venue set very soon, so babysitters can be booked in good time. Watch this space.

The Book People.

The new catalogue is due any day now so do keep checking book bags. The final order date will be supplied with it.

Box Tops for Books.

The collecting box is located on the notice board inside of the back door. Last year Mrs Ort was able to choose 4 books for school from the Box Tops tokens we collected from Nestle'  cereals. Please keep the tokens coming into school so that more books can be chosen.

The Ethical Food Company - grocery deliveries.

Please consider helping us raise funds for the school by ordering your groceries from the Ethical Food Company.

By registering using the code on the leaflet - WS0085, you will get delivery at half price of only £1 and £1.50 will go to the school for every order. Free deliveries direct to school are planned to start when the new shelter is built (so the boxes don't get wet while awaiting collection!).   ABLE & COLE.
